Secondly, the word  Kizuna  translates to "bond" which is likely in reference to the bond the Chosen Children - or Digi-Destined in the English dub - share with their Digimon partners. 9 Plot Details Set in 2010, Taichi (or Tai in the dub) and the rest of the Chosen Children are now well into adulthood. As established in the previous film series  Digimon Adventure tri., Taichi is at a crossroads and undecided about what he wants to do with his life or what future to work towards. As the Chosen Children grow up, and the more they fight alongside their Digimon partners, their bonds are beginning to break. When a timer activates on their Digivices, and a mysterious Digimon Eosmon ( Eos  translating to  dawn) starts causing chaos, the Chosen Children have to make the choice whether to save the world again even if it costs them their Digimon partners. If fans thought the reboot sequence in  tri.  was heartbreaking, then they're surely in for a world of hurt. 8 The Chosen Children Are Adults Now Taichi, Sora, and Yamato (Matt in the dub) are in their mid-20s, and Takeru and Hikari (T. K. and Kari) are in university. Taichi is a university student studying political science (a path we saw him take a shine to at the end of the  tri. series). Yamato is a senior studying science and engineering (preparing himself for a career in astrophysics, most likely). Sora has followed her mother's path with ikebana - or flower arranging; Koushiro (Izzy in the dub) is a CEO of his own business and key liaison between humans and Digimon. More information and character profiles can be found on the official website. 7 The 02 Kids Are Back After being snubbed from the  tri.  series - which caused much anger and confusion within the fandom - the characters Daisuke, Ken, Iori and Miyako (Davis, Ken, Cody, and Yolei in the dub) are making a return. From what we know so far, Miyako has been studying abroad in Spain, and some theories are that her long-distance is a suggestion there may be "gates" between not only the Human and Digital world but different countries too. This is a similar setup to  Digimon Adventure 02  where the characters were able to freely travel from world-to-world via gates, or in the film  Our War Game!  (the mid-part of the dubbed movie) where Taichi and Yamato traveled into the internet to defeat Infermon/Diaboromon. Could something similar happen in this film, and the battle with Eosmon? 6 "To Sora" To Sora  is a short film prologue set a day before the main film. It fills in the five-year gap between the last film in the  tri. series and  Kizuna, and is currently available online to watch for free. In the film, we learn what the Chosen Children are currently up to with work, study, and life in general. The focus is mainly on Sora and establishing she has decided to take a step back from her duties as a Chosen Child. She is no longer taking part in the action, and instead focussing on her autonomy and working towards the future she wants for herself. This is an interesting set up going into  Kizuna, and may hint at some potential conflict. 5 Cast The Japanese cast members from  Digimon Adventure tri.  will be reprising their roles for this film. There has been no news on cast choices for a potential English dub, but it can be presumed the same cast from the  tri.  dub will also return. For the most part,  tri.  tried to bring back the cast from the original 1999 anime. The exceptions are Vic Mignogna, Robbie Daymond, Johnny Yong Bosch, and Tara Sands, who take over as Matt, Joe, TK, and Kari respectively. Biyomon and Gatomon were also re-cast with Cherami Leigh and Kate Higgins. Thankfully, Joshua Seth came back to voice the lead character, Tai. Hopefully, he will return for  Kizuna in the future. 4 Kōji Wada Kōji Wada was the composer of the original series. He's the one behind "Brave Heart" and original opening song "Butter-Fly" - which is arguably better than the war chant theme song done for the US Dub. Wada was also involved in  Digimon Adventure tri.,  remixing "Butter-Fly" for the new opening, as well as "Seven~tri. Version. " Sadly, Wada passed away in 2016 from nasopharynx cancer. Some members of the fandom are fine with the epilogue - flash forwarding to 2027, showing everyone in the world has a Digimon partner, and Yamato and Sora got married - whereas other fans were upset their favorite couple wasn't the endgame. The showrunners for  tri. and  Kizuna  have maintained that they are working with the epilogue in mind, and working towards that goal. As such, in  To Sora,  we find out that Yamato has settled on studying for a career in Astrophysics, putting him on path to become an astronaut (and marry Sora) as established in the epilogue. Furthermore, Takeru is a university freshman studying Literature and English, and Hikari is studying early childhood education - both of which line up with their future careers. Again, some fans will be upset that these two are unlikely to end up a long-term couple. 2 End Of Series? Unlike the  Pokemon  anime, the  Digimon Adventure  franchise has seen its characters grow up from childhood to adolescence, and now adulthood. But as it was established in  Digimon Adventure tri., Chosen Children are meant to be children, and as the characters age the bond with their Digimon partners is at risk of ending.  Last Evolution: Kizuna  will mark the end of the series for Taichi and the other Chosen Children. For now. A reboot of the original series is set to debut in April this year. The upcoming  Digimon Adventure: Ψ will be set in 2020, but with the characters de-aged to their original childhood ages. 1 Release Date The film is set to debut in Japanese cinemas on February 21. It will receive a US release through Fathom Events on March 25, in its original Japanese audio with English subtitles. Half of it is just reused plot elements from Tri: A DigiDestined not wanting to fight but then does, the kids risk loosing their Digimon for good, a female adult being the villain because she can't handle loosing her Digimon while the male adult is the good character. Then you have T.K. and Kari being reduced to damsels because apparently saving the world isn't motivation enough for Tai and Matt... While I like Kari's whistle being used as a symbol of the bonds they share with the Digimon as must as the next person, it has been done to death already in the series. Even the villain's motivation of kidnapping young adults so everyone can stay young and happy for ever has been done so many times in anime. I'm sorry, but this movie just is just full of over used cliche's, and the ending is nothing but a lie to the fans. We were told this was going to be the end of Adventure, that this would be the FINAL adventure. It was supposed to be a goodbye to the characters we had grown to love so that new characters, or in this case the reboot, would have its turn. Now they're ending it on a fake cliff hanger. Continuing the old adventure, and doing a reboot at the same time is NOT a good idea. The kids watching the reboot are not going to understand why a new movie is occurring and all the characters are suddenly older. What Toiei is doing is really going to risk alienating the new children they want investing in the series as well as the older fans.

His gig is to infiltrate the Polish mob's drug trade in New York. But when a sting operation goes wrong, Koslow gets screwed by the Feds and is forced to return to the one place he's fought so hard to leave, Bale Hill Prison. Clive Owen Rosamund Pike and Joel Kinnaman Can he pull off the inside job that will give him his freedom, or will the Polish mob get him - and his family? Koslow's FBI handler, Wilcox, is played by Rosamund Pike, who does a good job as the semi-compromised cop trying to do the right thing, while Eugene Lipinski has the scenery for breakfast, lunch and dinner as the sociopathic drug lord Klimek whose only interest is 'business'. Qui est la a cause d'Altered Carbon. 5 stars all the way❗. This looks incredible! Forget about the other scary clown in town! IT doesn't stand a chance versus Mr Phoenix. First Transformers, now Informer, what next? Former? 😂. This looks great! But. that CO2 laser thing is going to bug me. If you ignore that it's basically impossible in that form factor (where are the batteries. CO2 lasers have a distinct color (near IR) and if they look red to you, that means it's the last thing your ever going to see. Ever. That's not even getting into the old 'you can't see the beam of a laser' thing. Also, it's not good for cutting metal as anyone with a laser cutter can tell you. Now if it was a fiber laser, it would have that cool 'military gets tech first' vibe AND be able to cut metal and be whatever color (though actually still far IR. Ruby or YAG aren't more realistic but at least they aren't so common that 10% of the audience has probably worked with them. Power supply and laser size are still a problem, but eh. Anyway the red beam effect is sort of tired. Trust me that just leaving a trail of white hot metal looks cool enough.

For instance, in a scene where textbooks were being burnt by the militants one could see that they were of Navneet Publications. How hard was it to acquire some genuine Pakistani textbooks? Some characters speak with a distinct Marathi accent and even look like they belong to Maharashtra police rather than being members of the Pakistani army. Instead of making a film about a sensitive girl the director has chosen to give it a masala potboiler treatment. The terrorists lurk around carrying huge guns like B movie villains killing anyone they dislike on a whim. And the whole counter strike by the Pakistani army gets so much glorification that you feel like you're watching a war film. It's Uri part two but with Pak army as the hero. We're sure that wasn't the director's intention. After you get over the shock of inadvertently watching a war film under the guise of watching a Nobel Laureate's biopic, you spare a thought towards Atul Kulkarni and Divya Dutta, two eternally professional actors having the ability to rise above insipid scripts. They play Malala's father and mother and have given the film everything they have got and more. The scene where they break down hearing news of an attack on her gets to you. Newcomer Reem Shaikh tries hard to become Malala but the effort shows. There is a clip from a speech by the real Malala at the end credits which offers more impact about education of girls worldwide than this two hour film because it showed a person's burning desire to bring about a change. Sadly that intensity was absent in this popcorn version of events. The mood of ‘Gul Makai is focused on the brutality that the local town-dwellers were subjected to during the Taliban occupation of Swat. Its tonality emphasises on one little girls unabashed and unquenchable thirst to acquire knowledge – not just for her own sake, but for every other girl child around her. True, the subject of this biographical piece is fascinating but, H. E Amjad Khans approach towards the same does not translate onto the big screen. For one, the narrative is messy from the word go and although Khan tries to juxtaposition Malalas inner turmoil with the war waged by the Talibans, he ends up concocting a story that is half-baked, and riddled with glaring flaws and discrepancies. And, barring seasoned actors Atul Kulkarni and Divya Dutta, the star cast (including the protagonist) has failed to deliver believable performances. In fact, Reems version of Malala neither renders a cathartic experience for its viewers, nor does it evoke any sense of real emotions. Also, the background score is a replica of the 80s war films in a not-so-flattering way and the haphazard writing goes on for 132 minutes, making ‘Gul Makai a tedious watch. It is quite disappointing that the film does not mention any of the controversies Malala has courted along the way, which is hard to overlook given the fact that the film is biographical in nature. ‘Gul Makai could have been a very strong story, but the initial spark fizzles out when translated on screen; the takeaway here is close to nothing.
